Kennilworth Castle and Elizabethan Garden

SUNDAY

The last day of our Cotswolds holiday. 

We said goodbye to the cottage in Blockley and headed the Village Cafe for a leisurely breakfast outdoors.

Then it was over to Kennilworth Castle and Elizabethan Garden (English Heritage) near Coventry. The audio tour was excellent providing insight into how Robert Dudley, Earl of Leicester converted the castle into a lavish palace fit to entertain Queen Elizabeth I.

Home late afternoon.
