Compost of Duck . . .

Or was it Comfy Duck . . . ??

And it’s not even Saturday.

Actually It’s an EB, but it does have its own story.   Many moons ago (very many) Mrs W found a recipe for ‘comfit of duck’, and instructed me to purchase two duck legs from the butcher, plus a small fortune in duck fat for the cooking.  This weekend we decided to defrost the legs and give it a go.  Well it was that or roast beef again.

The slow cooking bit produced such tender meat that one leg fell of the bone, so the oven roast bit lacked the ability to crisp up all the skin, so we deboned both legs and shared the meat between us.  I’m pleased to report that it was the most tasty duck I (we) have ever had.  Note in diary to repeat exercise.

The other part of the day was taken up with the arrival of Mrs W’s new ‘Coolpix P1000’, and a selection of Li-ion batteries and power bank and chargers etc in readiness for a winter of little power, all of which needed careful playing with . . .
