What did the barman say…

when the ghost asked for a drink?

Sorry, we don’t serve spirits.

Boom, boom.

Garage Project, one of the best craft breweries in our small country (and probably the most prolific) makes this Ghost Light Hazy IPA. They say it’s just what’s needed to raise spirits.

First released in August 2020. This was during the first wave of the virus, when we were going through extended rolling lockdowns in the hope of staying pandemic-free, which was worth a try.

There’s a story behind the beer and the timing of its release. As the team at Garage Project tell it, “when theatres close their doors they keep an electric light illuminated on the stage, to keep the resident ghosts happy. With lockdown, Ghost Lights have been burning bright on stages around the world. Good for the ghosts, not so for those in the Arts”.

Ghost Light is, they claim, a brilliant white gold brew, with a distinctly spectral haze. Brewed to support artists, they say.

Garage Project beers often have limited releases, and this is now sold out. But a local restaurant (no, not Ghost Street) still had supplies, and I kept the can from last Wednesday, thinking it might be a blip at some point.

It’s a very drinkable beer, as most hazy IPAs are. Funny how I prefer dark beer (stouts and porters) in the winter months, but a light hazy IPA is just the right tipple when the weather gets warmer.

MonoMonday’s theme is humo(u)r, as you might have guessed. And although the joke’s not a great one, I hope you like the image (I had fun setting up the photo). Thanks to Laurie for hosting!
