Figments of the imagination

Knock, Knock
* Who's there?
Figs
* Figs who?
Figs the doorbell, I've been knocking for ages.

I used to think there were fig flavoured Mentos, but they were figmints of my imagination.

With thanks to Laurie for making this a really fun MonoMonday.  It has been a full-on day harvesting figs, washing and slicing them and laying them out on drying racks, a job I really enjoy.(See extra) The figs are black and green ones and in abundance. They dry beautifully in a specially designed airing oven on a low temperature and take about 22-24 hours to dry. The dried figs are then packed in airtight jars and last for ages, without presevatives or additives. They're delicious cut up into muesli or oat porridge for breakfast. Nature is  so bountiful!
