Engineering Marvels - Old and New

I had a meeting in San Francisco today and was able to get up on the hillsides above the Golden Gate Bridge. I had plenty of tourist shots of the bridge with incredible blue skies and city backgrounds, but I liked this one best.

Foreground: North Tower of the Golden Gate Bridge (closeup w/telephoto)

Background: Treasure Island below new span of the Bay Bridge, the new tower of the Eastern span of the Bay Bridge (currently in construction, due to open on Labor Day - current problems with bolts snapping may delay), behind the new tower you can see the two older towers of the eastern span of the Bay Bridge, (currently functional and serving over 200 thousand vehicles per day). Downtown Oakland is behind the bridges and then the Berkeley Hills (you can just make out the white chapel-like structure of the Claremont Hotel left of upper center).

A lot of stuff to see, so see it LARGE!
