Greenshank

An overnight thunderstorm kept me awake a little last night, that and getting up at 2am to watch House of Dragons! So felt in need of a wake up walk this morning so headed to the local nature reserve.  Very empty again although did get to see a kestrel, along with a juvenile shelduck.  What wasn't so nice to see was 2 dead swans, Avian flu has hit the reserve badly and they've suffered so many losses :(

On the walk back I got very lucky spotting this greenshank as hadn't seen one before, and also got to see 2 kingfishers zooming along the creek! I had hoped they were going to stop somewhere, but no such luck!  But did get to see the Clouded Yellow butterfly again in a different spot so good to see some butterflies still about!

Got home in time to beat another rain shower, and then the sun reappeared again this afternoon! I can't keep up!
