Daisy And Rain

As we dropped in on Miss Flum, the neighbouring cat came for a natter on the doorstep, marking the occasion by clawing the mat.

From here we went to Pentland Plants and were browsing in the shop when the rain began - and what rain!

Making the decision to wait it out in the café, we found ourselves stranded as the thunder, then lightning, and ever heavier rain hammered on the roof. At one point it stopped abruptly, as though a tap had been turned off and, as one, all the customers looked up in surprise. Then the heavens opened once more until, after some 45 minutes, as it began to slacken off, we made a dash for the car.

I think it stopped completely around 7pm, four hours later, when reports of a tornado sighting began to appear on social media.

The events in London and Balmoral come as a poor second in our diaries today.
