Before and After. Lumix M4/3 14mm

For the past few days, I have been scrubbing away at the Stanley #55, trying to remove as much of the grime of ages from all the sections which form the functioning plane.  The tool was supplied with two fences - the piece that guides a cut along the edges of a board -.  One has a micro-adjust mechanism, and the other is simpler, but both have rosewood handles and contact surfaces.  I think the contrast between the one more-or-less cleaned, and the other, completely untouched, makes for a nice Blip.  The rosewood on the lower has been sanded and given a coating of shellac, i.e. French polish.  As fun as this project is, I have a piece of furniture to finish, work to go to, shopping and cooking to do...  The fine tuning will have to be done on the fly.
