Fresh Spring Green

A crystal clear, cloudless blue sky, sunny May 1st morning! All the lovesick birds are chirping and twittering, the dogs are taking sun baths out on the lawn, and all is right with the world right now.

This fuzzy-headed fern is slowly unfurling in the shade garden I made several years ago. It is filled with a variety of ferns and hostas, and provides a cool green oasis of shade throughout the hot summer months. There is a lovely antique iron bench there for contemplative moments, and this is the spot where, almost two years ago, my middle son and his bride chose to exchange their wedding vows.
