In My Life

St Mary's...

Many thanks for the good wishes and congratulations that were offered yesterday following the birth of Rosa, our first granddaughter. I thought today's Manchester image could double as a tribute and show of gratitude to the hospital and staff who performed so well in the care of mother and baby.
Founded in 1790, St Mary's Hospital in Manchester, provides a wide range of world class medical services for women, babies and children. As a Regional Centre of Excellence, the hospital is committed to providing the highest quality of care to patients and their families from the North West and beyond. The hospital has undergone some radical changes since our daughters were born here in the eighties. A huge atrium greets visitors and allows sunlight to spill into the public areas. The rooms on the ward are spacious and the staff friendly and extremely approachable. The NHS gets some bad press these days but it is heartening to be on the receiving end when they get it right.
