Enigma

This is one of a collection of 4 Pictish Stones displayed in a porch at Inveravon Church. Known as Inveravon 1, the stone has a crude carving of an Eagle beneath an intricately carved ' mirror case'. Below the Eagle are indistinct carvings of a mirror and comb.

This stone was used as part of the foundations of a 12th century church on this site and was unearthed when the present church was built in 1806. The Church close to the confluence of the Avon and Spey is shown in the extra.
