From one Coronation . . .

. . . to another.

I have a vague recollection of being in a crowd of people close to where we lived and watching a fairytale coach go by and everyone was cheering. I was five years old.

I unearthed the (dusty) Coronation mug I have had stored away over all the years.

Then I got out my mother’s scrapbook again and realised that she was a child when the Queen’s father was crowned King. In fact she was only two years older than Elizabeth was then. No wonder she collected photos of her.

Time passes - times change, but events become part of us.

We had plans for going into London on Monday 19 and Tuesday 20 - not happening! I don’t think we will be the only ones hastily changing plans at this time.
