Passing Showers and Sunshine

A six mule walk on Dartmoor today near the ancient village of Lydford, in West Devon. With walking blinkers firmly in place, the passing showers and windows of sunshine were hardly noticed. I did stop and enjoy the views all around where this shot was taken. The self-taught Dartmoor artist William Widgery (1826-1893) drew inspiration and painted some of his most memorable paintings in this area, he is commemorated by a huge grantite cross on Brat Tor. I love the colours here and the way they change through the seasons and with the light.
