Quod oculus meus videt

Last Few

L started to suffer from a sore throat yesterday evening and by this morning had developed a full on cold.  No indication of Covid (we still have LFD tests).  She's always used Tyrozets in the past, but we've realised they have now been discontinued.

A little research found that following a decision by the Medicines and Healthcare Products Agency (MHRA), Tyrozets was discontinued and is no longer available in the UK. The decision was made after the MHRA examined the need for an antibiotic to be in a throat lozenge. It was decided that due to the majority of sore throats being caused by viral infections, an antibiotic was inappropriate and increases antibiotic resistance. Viral infections are self-limiting and do not require antibiotic treatment.

I went out in the afternoon for the last society game of golf of the year.  We started in beautiful sunshine, but by the time we reached the first green, the first rumbles of thunder were in the distance.  By the time we reached the third tee it was torrential and though we carried on for a while, by the time we reached the green it was waterlogged and there was no let up in the strength of the rain.  Surprisingly we hadn't heard any sirens suspend play, but we had the good sense to seek shelter.
