Ringing for HM The Queen

We rang the half muffled bells at St Dunstans, Monks Risborough in remembrance of the Queen.

In times like these I am always grateful to be able to ring the church bells, the half muffles make it a sombre and fitting sound that gives me goosebumps. To be able to pay my respects to the Queen in this way is very humbling and emotional, more than I expected if I'm honest.

(We could have rung fully muffled but we didn't have enough muffles, protocol states fully muffled bells should only be used for the death of a monarch, the incumbent of the church or the diocesan bishop)

Rest in peace Ma'am - a life of duty and a life well lived
