After 200 years, Jennings Brewery in Cockermouth is to close!

It was taken over by Marston’s in 2005…

Then a few months ago Marston’s was taken over by Carlsberg…

And next month Jennings Brewery in Cockermouth will close for good!!!!!!!

Why do these big companies take over, then close small independent businesses?

Such a shame…

On a cold and frosty morning we used to smell the hops and the beer being mashed…but no more.
