Queen of Scots

Queen Elizabeth's last journey from Balmoral to the Palace of Holyroodhouse. Safe Journey...

Queen's Coffin entering Edinburgh along Queensferry Road.

Can't imagine the strength of the Princess Royal to hold it together for such a long journey behind the hearse, coffin with Royal Standard & flowers, & then standing at entrance to the Palace.

A few practice shots using the police bikes, then everyone had moved a bit further forward & I ended up too close for the whole hearse.

Long drive & steady as they go on the bikes (built well for speedy chases!) So glad it was dry for them as not long after it was pouring it down. Well done the bikers must be hard concentration.

And to local William Purves Funeral Directors (have used for own family) must have been so different driving with an armed escort & outriders. I like their silvery grey cars but notice using the black ones today.

Normally, the Royal Cortege disrupts the traffic by maybe 2 x traffic light changes & sometimes hardly notice at all. A lot of extra vehicles after too this time. But alot of folk had travelled by car to NW of the city trying to park so was very busy with people.

It was a rolling block so didn't take long before people moved away but took longer for the cars to disperse.

Lucky to find a spot at a wall next to someone's gate & were allowed to stand on the busiest road out of town! Don't even like walking the pavement normally at that bit!

Walked upriver from Cramond Brig to Grotto Bridge & thru Cammo Estate, spotted the jaggy thistle. Also heard the buzzard.

Treated myself to sweet & sour chicken fried rice & veggie spring rolls just as I would of an anniversary memory.
