Paradise Shellduck

My son drove me to two appointments in Christchurch. One was in the morning and one in the afternoon. We took a break in a lovely place to eat our cut lunch.

This beauty was quietly watching the river. The white head and fancy colours and patterns mark her as the female. Males are mainly black, with the same dark green under the wing, plus a little orange flash.
