Pampas Grass

Much of the vegetation round the Heritage Park loch is withering fast but this Pampas Grass was still looking very healthy as the feathery fronds swayed gently in the wind.

Not too many birds around ….. the usual black-headed gulls, a few female mallards and the swan parents with their one cygnet ….. not a goose to be seen after tripping over them for many, many weeks.

My gardening boys appeared this morning ….. big shrubs like pyracantha and cotoneaster have had a good trim, the grass has been cut and the earth given a good tickle. Everything looks so good, for the moment ….. won’t be too long till the thousands of leaves from my neighbour’s trees end up all over my back garden.
