Heading west

On our way to Paternoster to spend a couple of nights with T&P.

The scenery leaving Cape Town and through Paarl is beautiful, with rolling hills and green fields reminiscent of parts of Europe.

We had a stop at Diemersdal vineyard to collect some wine along the way.

T&P were excited to show us their nesting kestrels that have taken up residence in one of their bird boxes, another box is being built for the owls that reappeared last night after being absent for a few months.

A pair of sunbirds have made their home in a garden ornament, with a decoy nest on the veranda, and were busy in and out to collect materials and to drink from the sugar water feeders that are around the garden.

They also have visiting tortoises, bushbuck, and Guinea fowl which we also hope to see,

It was great to sit in the sun, catch-up, and enjoy the comings and going’s around us.
