Caledonian Canal

I found myself in a very interesting and unusual geographical location. N had booked two days fishing on the River Ness, a very short river flowing for six miles from Loch Dochfour (at the northern end of Loch Ness) to Inverness. Running parallel to the river is the Caledonian Canal with just a narrow strip of land separating the two in the area around Dochgarroch Lock where we were based for the two days. Bertie and I enjoyed walks both beside the canal and beside the river. My main is the view looking south along the canal from Dochgarroch Lock and the extra is the view along the canal heading north.
