George Square

Edinburgh was bustling at 07:30 on this beautiful sunny morning. The schools and universities are back, lots of people were heading to work and there are still lots of tourists.

After a loop around the Meadows I could see people heading to George Square beside the Edinburgh University library. This is where the wrist bands were being issued to view the Queen’s coffin lying in state at St Giles. The security people said there was no wait now and it was a case of following the moving ‘queue’ up to Potters Row and on to St Giles - an estimate of 30 minutes to one hour.

In the afternoon the courtyard gardening group convened at the Edinburgh Printmakers Holy Cow cafe to discuss our autumn planting. We have a long list now!
