Seascape

I was fully recovered today and rarin' to go, and we took a trip to the beach.   Had a nice light lunch in the cafe, and then meandered along through the woods for a while, and then came back along the beach where I took the photo.  The sea was quite choppy and Ailsa Craig made a nice backdrop.

Ailsa Craig  (Scottish GaelicCreag Ealasaid) is an island of 240 acres in the outer Firth of Clyde, upon which microgranite has long been quarried to make curling stones. The island is now uninhabited.

The island, colloquially known as "Paddy's milestone", was a haven for Roman Catholics during the Scottish Reformation in the 16th century, but is today a bird sanctuary, providing a home for huge numbers of gannets and an increasing number of puffins.
