Gull eats healthily in Dunoon!

What a gorgeous warm and sunny September day!
We took the ferry from Gourock to Dunoon (Western Ferries), a great wee service that runs from early morning to late at night and takes only 20 minutes to cross to the Cowal Peninsular.
Had a wander along Dunoon’s old pier and saw gulls bashing mussels on the concrete and eating the contents, just as they should do rather than eating rubbish left by humans. The old pier building is rather sad looking but lovely nevertheless.
Spent a great couple of hours in Benmore Botanical Gardens, had a peaceful picnic lunch on the shores of Lock Eck, drove down to Toward, popped in to a lovely wool shop in Kirn, then back to the ferry and home again. A wee extra treat was seeing the Disney Magic cruise ship docked in Greenock on our way past.
Another great day out on the west coast of Scotland, the sun definitely helps!
