Caen Hill (Friday 16th September 2022)

Having lived here since 1989 it isn't always possible to stick to my dictum of not repeating myself in the pictures that I take. I am certain to have blipped the Caen Hill lock staircase more than once, and I am sure it is a view taken by many thousands of tourists and other visitors to Devizes.

I was rather taken by those baguette clouds though, and as I tend to photograph Caen Hill from the top looking down, today I couldn't resist the cliched postcard view, taken from the road bridge on Marsh Lane. For symmetry I have posted the view from the other side of the bridge, looking towards Foxhangers, where the Caen Hill Flight continues, in Extras.
