The season is started

E and his teammates started their chess season today. In the highest competition possible in the Netherlands, it will be big challenge to scoor some points. But oh man they do enjoy the fact they are playing here this season! So much to learn and so much to enjoy.

Every one was expecting a lot of short games without any chance. But after 2 hours almost all of the 10 players looked good on the board. So at least all of them have a real game, and that was something to hope for. After 2,5 hours the first lost game was a fact (not E), but the others still looked not to bad!

At the end of the day they played 5-5! Before they start they would have signed up for this, but afterwards it felt that it could have been even more.

E wasn’t satisfied about his result. He was going for the win, played one piece wrong and lost. Chess is a hard game sometimes, and you can’t blame anyone but yourself for a made mistake. But E was very satisfied about the way he played against this strong player, who told him he was relieved E made a mistake, because E was overplaying him. They did analyze the game for over an hour with a drink and useful tips and tricks for E about his way of looking at a game situation on the board, which can really help E to grow. Very cool!

On our way back home E and I did agree: it was a good day!
