Perth - Doors Open Day 2022

Spent the day in Perth, a city I had passed many times on the way North and spent time in the surrounding area but had never visited the city centre itself until today.
Started off with an excellent guided walk with a local archeologist following the ‘Lade’, a waterway built in medieval times but now largely underground, the route follows the medieval city walls.
My main blip is taken from an island in the middle of the River Tay reached by walking over the rail bridge looking down towards the other two bridges in Perth.
Lastly we visited the Fergusson Gallery which displays the artwork and archives of Scottish Colourist J D Fergusson and Margaret Morris, the pioneer of modern dance. The artworks are housed in a former 19th century waterworks which is one of the world’s earliest cast iron buildings.
A very interesting and enjoyable visit!
