The Lord Stones

A lovely walk from the Lord Stones, along the Cleveland Way over Cringle Moor, then south to Raisdale, over the moor to Scugdale and back up and over Carlton Bank to return to the car. A grand 10 mile circle with glorious views and after a cloudy start we had the best of weather.

The above photo was taken when we arrived. I wanted to take another with the sun on the stones when we got back but by then the area was full of people inconsiderately camped out amongst and on the stones!

The stones themselves are the few remaining kerbstones that defined the perimeter of a bronze age burial mound.
