Long Tailed Tit

I went for a longish walk before the ceremonies began and I was very pleased to come across a small flock of long tailed tits. I haven't seen these in a very long time!

They were preening in the depths of the tree when I first saw them and the extra shows a mid preen fluff up.

The processional pageantry of Her Majesty's funeral was extraordinary and I was moved by the service at Windsor. I didn't watch the state funeral at Westminster as I preferred to focus on 'renewal; - some bulb planting which hopefully will be successful in the spring. 

I hope that the Royal Family will now have some space to grieve and mourn their much loved mother/(great)grandmother with some privacy.
