Our latest Dote

We planned a quiet day today, but nothing could be more wrong: it was a torture but success filled all the way. We awoke at 5 to the news that Miriam had been taken to hospital at 2am by Harisen, then collected Alepher to be with her.
Then we picked Dupu and Mrs Waddi, the agriculture ministry official and headed for Kadambo where we met the chiefs and finalised a land deal where the Chief's son handed over 10 hectares of land, and more if necessary to local families to carry out conservation farming under the guidance of Dupu, the best farmer in the area and Robert from the farm, both of whom we sent to Zambia for training.
I don't know if this deal is unique but it is certainly rare in this part of Malawi.
Then to the Lusangazi farm to meet a cluster self help group who had come for a day's training in Agriculture for Business, while Mary worked with village Chiefs and community on the setting up of a CBO (community based organisation) looking to extend our Health Centre and build a house to accommodate a nurse and attendant.
BUt the greatest pleasure was visiting Miriam with her bundle of joy, a baby girl and a sister for Stanley!
Maybe it was a fitting way to end this mission in Malawi.
Now for packing and tidying, Yuk
