Holyrood gate

This is the side gate closest to the Physic garden. 

Errands in the morning; found a favorite bakery open for bread. Like many millions of other people we watched part of the funeral. The BBC had clearly done much preparation - that roof camera in the Abbey - as had the participants. A great ceremonial event.

Thinking that the town might be quiet we walked through the Grassmarket, up Victoria St, and down the Mile to Holyrood. Not as many vehicles as usual, and the tourists were navigable. Looked at the fairly new Physic Garden; it needs a good tidy up, but will wait .. Floral arrangements in piles around trees, ready for composting. Back by the Cowgate, a much less popular route for visitors.
