Lunch

We had a fish lunch on the beach today. Temperature in the mid-twenties, the sound of the Mediterranean breaking softly over the sand. But they dismantled the lifeguard station this morning and reeled in the buoys that delineate the safe swimming area. End of season, and you can feel it in the cooling temperatures. The last ferry of the season to Saint Tropez sails on Saturday, so we will cross on Thursday to have lunch in the old port. Tomorrow we will visit the indoor market at Sainte Maxime before idling the day away on the terrace reading books and drinking wine. Home at the end of the month. It will be sad to wave goodbye to all this. But all good things must come to an end.
