CORSICA - DAY 7 - CORTE

SAD DAY…
We were sad not to be at home for the Queens funeral as I know we would have been up in London.
#however we managed to get a late checkout so watched some before and after breakfast.
#this was not included in our room rate and at £20pp it was a treat today only.
#we watched some more of the funeral looking out to sea.
As the funeral ended we made our way to hotel 3…up in the mountains in Corte. It was a lovely journey with stunning views but no photos seemed to do it justice.
#this was one of the many mountain villages we drove through.
#our hotel is simple, but the room is very comfortable.
#the pool however is something else. I’ve been in bigger jacuzzis:))). We got there just as The Queen arrived in Windsor! Perfect timing.
What an amazing send off for a fabulous lady.
In the evening we walked into town…it was ok…a bit run down to be honest.
# we climbed up-to the citadel and had the worst meal ever, terrible service, over cooked food and then they didn’t take cash and The Rev had to run about the town trying to find a cash point!!! NOT IMPRESSED!!
