Tiles & Ein Teil Des Fotos

Ein Teil Des Fotos - A part of the photo.  Teil & Tile are pronounced exactly the same.

"Teil" is a curious word in German.  It can be "der Teil" or "das Teil" - I've never really sorted out the rules in my head so I always go with the indefinite article "ein" - that's ok for Der & Das.

We have the same sort of thing for "See" - pronounced "Say".  Der Bodensee (Englisch speakers know it better as Lake Constance) but die Ostsee (the Baltic sea for Englisch speakers).  So i think the rule is Freshwater lakes are "der ....see" and tidal seas are "die ...see".

I will, no doubt, be corrected if I have messed that up.
