Green manure

Even though it hasn't rained enough in September so far, it's the season for green manure.

I find the seeds still germinate, possibly with dew meaning that the soil stays damp a bit longer each day. 

With prices rising, I don't think I'll be able to afford several manure deliveries like last year. So green manure will have to work harder for me!

I've sowed autumn/winter mixes, which include (amongst other goodies) mustard, rye grass, buckwheat, phacelia and clover.
