Autumn Cloud over Ashdown Forest

Today was a day of such superb and dramatic cloud cover. I decided that the effects would be best seen from up on Ashdown Forest, so I took a circular stroll from the car park beside Ellison's Pond on the Crowborough Road out of Nutley.

This is the view from just below the Smugglers Car Park, of Camp Hill Clump (to the left) and Friends Clump (to the right), with the South Downs on the distant horizon.

It makes an interesting comparison with the landscape/skyscape I took of almost the same scene at the height of Storm Franklin, exactly seven months ago.
