A few members walked, but most of us went climbing on Independence Slab at The Range. This involved abbing down to the bottom of the slab just above the sea and then climbing up and out.

It was good fun but I found it quite tiring, largely because Pete's rope was quite chunky and it was a real effort to pull it through the belay plate, and that was before it got wet!

But I led my first Severe route for about four years, one I enjoyed seconding last year, so was pleased. The photo shows Fi leading the same route, and one of me leading has now appeared - see extra.

At that point I'd had enough and Julia and I walked back to Anglesey Outdoors rather than wait for the others to finish and go in the car.
