Jane’s Orchard #1

I have been planting apple trees since we moved to our property some long time ago. Since we are having a fine fruitful year I thought I would feature some of them on blip.

This apple, Bradley’s Beauty, was grown by a dear friend Bob Bradley. He was most proud of it and propagated many new trees from grafts. We are delighted to have two fine trees, now some 15 years old which Bob gave us. They are on strong full sized rootstocks and are doing very well in our rather high and exposed site.
This year’s apples are delicious, well ripened with a sweet rather cox like taste. They work well as cookers and eaters, and I think we will juice most of them this year.
Makes a great red admiral perch too!
