Gonna be a weird weekend….

We’ve come to Margate for the weekend…staying to have lunch with both sons tomorrow and making it easier for the younger to come as he lives in Whitstable, when he’s not away filming. 

It’s quite a long way from Sussex and the traffic was terrible. Still the hotel, really a B&B with a bar,  and dinner at a local fish restaurant were fun.  It is owned by the Libertines and is quite gothic and rock and roll with paintings by Pete Doherty but reassuringly good bath products.  

Margate isn’t quite as gentrified as I thought and the Turner Contemporary art gallery in the middle is rather incongruous.  

Good meeting with a director before I left - I hope he wants to do the show…
