St Marys

This morning we took a boat from Lowertown quay to St Marys. The northerly breeze was chilly as we waited for the Seahorse, when it eventually arrived approx 80 passengers disembarked on tiny cloudy cold St Martins. What would they do all day?

On arrival at Hughtown we sought the shelter of the sunny south facing Porthcressa beach. When sufficiently warmed we set off to Porthmellon for lunch at the Beach restaurant. We returned to Hughtown for a walk around the Garrison walls and a look at the shops. My main shows a young lad sitting on the pavement happily engrossed in a book (a rare sight these days) One extra is of the Scillonian docked and the second is the Garrison gate. On our journey back the sea was choppy, the weather has taken a down turn, so pleased I packed warmer wear, I think I will need it for our 2nd week.
