The lower end

The lower end of Yeovil consists of islands of old buildings with small backstreet shops and one-way traffic swirling past them as the cars enter the dual carriage way which splits the town in half. Some of these buildings have already been pulled down to improve the road layout and I expect these will disappear one day.

The pale stone building opposite is an old gloving factory (Yeovil used to be famous for its glove making and has one leather factory left - Pittards) which is being converted, hopefully, into flats or living accommodation. It is on the residential side of the dual carriageway.

Glorious weather!
