Planet Jupiter

On a whim, I aimed my camera at the planet Jupiter tonight September 25, 2022 at about 10:00pm EDT because it appeared very bright in the sky. I managed to get this handheld image of Jupiter and four of its moons (left to right) Ganymede, Io, Europa, and Callisto. Jupiter has reached its closest distance to Earth in 59 years tonight. It is now only 367 million miles from us. The next time Jupiter comes this close will be in the year 2129.
