Wharariki

A bright and highly breezy day we went the long windy and scenic road to Wharariki which is near Farewell Spit, the very top of South Island. It was blowing an absolute hooley but looked magnificent. The highlight was finding some tiny spiral shells which, on consulting Esmes book, turned out to have come from a squids bottom!
Tempers getting a bit fraught, we stopped off on the way home fir a late lunch in the Old School House cafe where Esme had an outrageous passionfruit sundae. Phew!
Edit: I still don't know what day it is, this was yesterday but has come up for today!
