A familiar scene

A friend of mine asked me for an opinion and after looking at her dog, I called in at my old workplace to speak to James the vet. He was in the middle of a routine operation so we talked about old times, the state of the veterinary profession and even the case I called in to discuss.
Nothing much changes and I could have taken over in an instant (had I been remotely inclined to do so).
