Start of autumn

The acer has suffered great stress during the heat wave but managed to keep about a third of its leaves but many with damage. There is just the slightest hint of the normal autumnal colours just starting to appear in some of them.

Mum is in hospital again, and, yesterday when I was at my parents place after hospital visiting, the stairlift failed. Stress added to stress. It was throwing about half a dozen different errors on the system display. Managed to get it moving again (percussive maintenance!), but, it was still being worryingly temperamental. Called the maintainer, but they couldn't get out until today. Consequently, we had to hope that it would behave for dad to get up to bed last night and down again this morning. Thankfully, it did. The thought of winding it down manually doesn't bare thinking about. A loose connection was found in one of the interlocks that ensure safe operation.
