Good times

I swapped my Monday for today so I could make another cheeky trip to the hills.

What a cracker. We forged a new route in much loved and familiar territory. Following the start of the usual track to Trig M from the base of Porter's Pass, we diverted to Pt 918. We followed a fence line down to the rugged Macfarlane Stream.

Many crossings of Macfarlane Stream and scrambles later, we bashed our way up toward Rabbit Hill. Steep matagouri country with plenty of pig sign.

Once on the tops it was cold. Rain threatened but held off. We made 1080m of elevation gain. Most of us tangoed with the matagouri and came off second best.

Today's gratitude: For a fantastic adventure.
