Otra tortuguita.
Apologies for another baby tortoise blip, but this is a different specimen, discovered today under a pile of branches cut down last year. The adults hide in there as well as burrowing under soil and weed proof membranes. The last one was covered in mud as a result of hatching from a buried egg; this one was perfectly clean so its egg was probably laid on the ground beneath the protective branches. (S)he’s very frisky and started chomping on a (tiny) lettuce leaf at once. Cute little face on this one.
