Up and over

A grand day out. After breakfast eight of us (six guests and two volunteers) got in the Gripper II and A took us along the Sound of Sleat and then up Loch Hourn dropping six of us and Annie the dog off at Barrisdale.

Two of the guests ( who are all German apart from us) decided to bag their first Munro and so we headed towards Inverie by the the way of Mam Barrisdale which involved a climb of 450m. We had lovely views looking back and once we reached the highpoint Loch an Dubh-Lochain came into view with Loch Nevis in the distance.

The walk down to the Loch can best be described as biggy and when it wasn't boggy it was a stream.

We walked in tandem with J&J the two volunteers (and Larry the llama) with Annie running in between us.

We saw two sea eagles as we left the bay at Doune and an other as we approached Inverie. The sitting season has started and we heard plenty of stags bellowing and saw one group of a stag with six or seven hinds (which Annie spotted) and who were watching us as much as we were watching them.

We enjoyed a refreshment in the Old Forge at Inverie before being driven back.

We were ready for our evening meal which was tasty. A mini session then followed with  T playing the guitar and singing with J one of the volunteers also playing a few songs.

We shall sleep well tonight.
