Female Wheatear

Wednesday 28th September 2022

I stayed at Sue's last night so we were able to have another day out today. This morning we parked at Leasowe Lighthouse and had a walk through the wood trying to spot birds. They were singing to us but obviously didn't want their photo taken. We had just got back in the car when Sue spotted this Wheatear at the corner of the car park. We kept taking its picture then moving slowly forward to try again. It let us get amazingly close and didn't seem at all bothered, it posed beautifully.

We returned to Sue's for some lunch then went out to Parkgate where we had an impromptu meeting with a friend. We walked all along the front, managing to photograph some birds and also having a great catch up. We then all moved on to RSPB Burton Mere for another walk.

It was time then to set off home. Thanks Sue for a lovely few days break.
