So close to home
The last walk of our holiday, a few days ago now, took us along stretches of roads. As we walked along the grassy verge I started to notice discarded beer cans, plastic bottles and other assorted general rubbish. Presumably dumped by walkers and from passing cars. The sheer amount of rubbish in such a lovely setting was so disappointing to see. It was nearly a subject of my Blip.
I noticed this abandoned trolley at the entrance to the cul de sac where I live yesterday and it reminded me of the rubbish along the walk.
Of course rubbish is everywhere. I just find it sad that we humans can’t appreciate our surroundings enough and look after this planet just a little bit better.
Ps I am aware this lone trolley is nothing in comparison to some fly tipping that takes places on an ongoing and large scale.
My thoughts on that are that councils under whatever pressure they are make it too hard for people to dispose of unwanted items and there is a huge lack of public education.
